Hello!

Brenda Edith Franco (she/they) is a lens-based artist and organizer based in Houston, TX. 

She received her BFA in Photography/Digital Media from the University of Houston in 2015 and is pursuing their artistic practice alongside working with small businesses to strategize their marketing efforts. 

As a regional contributor for Deep Red Press, an independent Texas-based publisher highlighting photographers working in the Texas region, Brenda interviews artists working within the conversation of photographic practice. She is also the co-founder of the one-day photo book zine festival, Uncle Bob’s Photo Zine Fest focusing on creating a platform for independent photo book publishers to connect with community, sell their work, and highlight lens-based artists in the Texas region.

They have shown in galleries in throughout Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Mexico City and have been published in several independent zines including La Horchata Zine.

Currently, she is working with the environmental justice non-profit, Air Alliance Houston as the Social Media Manager tasked with engaging and reaching the community at large through digital efforts.
